In this essay, he is offering some sound solutions to our country’s problems. However, in my humble opinion, he has missed the forest for the trees with these recommendations. There are root causes to our problems. If they were fixed, a lot of the other issues would be much easier to resolve.
I offer these as a modest supplement to Mr. Hanson’s passionate formula for our restoration.
Revive Judeo-Christian values.
Accountability to a Higher being. Adherence to an objective moral code. The centrality of family. Parental rights in their child’s upbringing. Respect for the individual. Service to the community.
If these standards become prominent in American culture, then a lot of the destructive woke influences would dissipate.
Restore national sovereignty.
Foreign entities with malicious intent have infilltrated many of our institutions far too deeply. These include the CCP and other communist regimes; the WEF and other technocratic bodies; Soros, Gates, and other globalist racketeers; and others. Collectively, they act to override our national interest with whatever exploitative designs these infiltators have in mind.
Just as we need a wall on our on our physical border, we need to protect ourselves from financial invaders. American officials simply cannot be allowed to have financial ties to our enemies. That would eliminate a lot of the corruption that plagues our government.
Release the free market.
Big Finance, Big Pharma, Big Military, Big Health System. Big Retailer, and other Big industries have a stranglehold on our economic activity – all because Big Government colludes with them to share in the profits. Capitalism has become communism, in just a few decades.
Get rid of this collusion, and we will see a boom in free enterprise. Sole practitioners, small businesses, collectives, cooperatives, and many other economic forms will appear on every block and every portal. The GNP will soar.
From Mr. Hanson:
“Most Americans know something has gone terribly wrong—and very abruptly—with the United States. They are certain that our wounds are almost all self-inflicted. The current pathologies are not a result of a natural disaster, an exhaustion of natural resources, plagues, or an existential war.”
“Crushing national debt and annual deficits, spiraling food and fuel costs amid “normal” seven-percent-plus annual inflation, bread-and-circuses entitlements, a nonexistent border, a resurgence of racial tribalism, pandemic violent criminality, and humiliation abroad—all these pathologies are easily cited as symptoms of a sick patient. Our crises are not as the Left maintains—a nine-person Supreme Court, the Electoral College, or the filibuster—all distractions from existential problems the Left largely created.
‘So, what are the therapies and prognoses for America?’
